For the past 6 months our flat come salon come studio has looked more like a blown up PAKS Hair Supplies store than a home. With no less than 20 people in the flat at one time! But the final outcome made all the blood, sweat and tears (and hair in the bed) worth the while.
On Saturday, the first day of London Fashion Week, Charlie's second collection was presented by Blow Presents... alongside our friend Gemma Slack, Lina Osterman and Iris Van Herpen was held at the Royal Festival Hall on London's South Bank. And if you know Charlie like I do, it was no surprise to see 'alien' girls walking down the runway in Chewbacca style body suits and black fur detailing for Spring/Summer 2010. Girls from outer space morphed with rain forest beasts, parading the colours and plumes from birds of paradise. The whole collection was inspired by one bird he found in Spitalfields Market, the Lesser Bird of Paradise, hence the collection's name 'Girls of Paradise'.
